More and more lever-action rifle hunters are turning to red dot sights from Burris, Vortex, Docter and others. For those of us relying on the venerable Winchester 94 in the field, installing our Model 92/94 barrel mount for your FastFire™ or Docter red dot sight couldn’t be easier.

Turnbull Restoration’s Steve Lester takes us through the quick and easy process of installing a barrel mount for red dot reflex sights. Turnbull’s red dot barrel mounts work on both Winchester models 1894 and 1892 with round barrels, and accommodate FastFire models 1 through 4, Vortex Venom, as well as Docter red dot sights. See the table below for a full listing of compatible sights.

Tools used for this red dot sight mount installation:

  • Bench vise
  • Padded wooden vise jaw
  • Paper card
  • Ball-peen hammer
  • Brass punch (taped to prevent barrel marring)
  • Flat head screwdriver
