Shipping Information

For Customers Shipping their Firearms to Turnbull Restoration:

All firearms sent to Turnbull Restoration for restoration, repair and finishing must be accompanied by a completed restoration request form. Please download and print our form, fill it out, and include it with the firearm at time of shipping. Upon request we can mail you a physical copy of this form if you do not have access to a printer. Firearms shipped directly to Turnbull Restoration should be packaged in a sturdy enough container to survive harsh shipping and handling conditions common with most carriers. Note: FedEx and UPS have recently updated their firearm handling policies and are no longer accepting firearms from individuals.

Handguns:

  • Handguns must be shipped via UPS or FedEx second day air but cannot be shipped by individuals. You have two options:
    • Bring your firearm to an FFL (federally licensed gun dealer) and have them ship it to us. Note: If you ship a firearm to us from an FFL it must be returned to that location and may be subject to a handling fee from your FFL.
    • Call us to purchase a UPS “call tag” (shipping label) and arrange with UPS to have them pick up your firearm from your home or office after you’ve boxed it up and affixed the shipping label. Click here to learn how to purchase a call tag.

Long guns:

  • Long guns may be shipped via the US Postal Service, UPS or FedEx under the following circumstances:
    • US Postal Service: An individual may bring a firearm to the US Postal Service to ship it without involving an FFL. ATF provides information on how to do so here.
    • UPS or FedEx: Bring your firearm to an FFL (federally licensed gun dealer) and have them ship it to us. Note: If you ship a firearm to us from an FFL it must be returned to that location and may be subject to a handling fee from your FFL.
    • UPS: Call us to purchase a UPS “call tag” (shipping label) and arrange with UPS to have them pick up your firearm from your home or office after you’ve boxed it up and affixed the shipping label. Click here to learn how to purchase a call tag.

For Customers Receiving Firearms from Turnbull Restoration:

  • Firearms purchased from Turnbull Restoration must be shipped to an agent/dealer with an FFL.
  • Firearms being returned to customers will be packaged by Turnbull Restoration to ensure safe arrival.
  • ALL shipments coming from Turnbull Restoration will have a maximum of $1,000.00 insurance.
  • Additional insurance will be at the expense of the customer at a rate of $10.00 per $1,000.00 of insurance coverage.
  • Firearms shipped outside of the United States will be exported through Borderview International or Simpson Ltd. The customer will be responsible for ALL shipping/import/export fees.

FFL Notes:

  • If a customer opts to use an FFL to ship the firearm to us, the restored/repaired/finished firearm MUST be returned to an FFL.
