Presented for you today is a beautiful Colt SAA revolver example from 1876. This classic M1873 was fully restored in 2023, and is now offered for sale.
Restoration work included:
- Replace unsalvageable original metal parts, all period-correct
- Smithing of original parts, hand-fitting of replacement parts
- Fit new one-piece walnut grips
- Polish frame to period-correct, pre-1913 high polish finish
- Remove engraving on backstrap
- Restore original markings to receiver and parts
- New screws, high polished
- Color case harden frame, hammer, loading gate
- Charcoal blue cylinder, barrel, trigger guard, backstrap and parts
- Nitre blue base pin, trigger and screws
