Added to our showroom today is a nice piece of French military history. This Fusil Modèle 1866 is a bolt-action breechloading rifle named after its inventor Antoine Alphonse Chassepot. It carries serial number J55478, with its bolt matching the same designation. This particular example was manufactured at the Saint-Étienne facility in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.

The 32″ barrel’s core is excellent. Includes bayonet with scabbard.
