Winchester 1886 Deluxe Take-Down, 2 Barrel Set
Sold
Description
Starting with a newer production USRAC (Winchester) Model 1886 take-down, we have built the perfect example of a “new gun made to look old”. This rifle uses a modern made rifle as a foundation but all of the work is pure “old school” Winchester.
The rifle retains the original 26″ full octagon barrel as well as a second “front end” chambered in 50-110. The lower tang and lever have been converted to a pistol grip configuration. The butt stock and forends are new to the rifle, made with 3X fancy American Black Walnut. The pistol grip knob has the traditional ebony wedge inlaid in it as well. The stocks are carved with original factory B-pattern carving.
The custom engraving is based on an original Winchester factory pattern with the addition of gold wire inlays on the receiver, lever, hammer, forend cap, barrel extension and butt plate.
The receiver is finished in period correct Charcoal Bluing, while the hammer, lever & butt plate are finished with traditional Bone Charcoal Color Case Hardening. The barrel and magazine tube are blued using the Slow Rust Bluing process originally used by Winchester.
