Known around the world as “The Gun that Won the West,” Winchester’s Model 1873 is certainly among the icons. Turnbull Restoration is famous for its dedication to timeless classics, and we’re proud to offer our version of Winchester’s legendary lever action rifle.
This special configuration is only available through Turnbull Restoration. Starting with a factory-new Winchester 1873 Sporter Octagon Pistol Grip model, we apply our signature color case hardening process to the receiver, lever, hammer, butt plate and forend cap. The 24″ barrel and magazine tube are rust blued, while small parts are charcoal blued. In addition, we refinish the factory-checkered stocks in a hand-rubbed oil finish to match Winchester’s classic red shading. The receiver top tang is drilled and tapped for an optional tang-mounted rear sight.
Our Model 1873 is offered in .44-40 Win or .45 Colt. Cowboy Action Shooters love the fact that the rifle fires the same ammunition as their revolvers. In addition, competitors love the ultra-smooth lever action.
