U.S. Fire Arms collectors, take note: the rumored USFA Forehand & Wadsworth large frame revolvers did exist, but only in the smallest quantity. We have six of them finished and ready for purchase.
These American-made collectables in .45 Colt are distinguished by the swept grip frame and thinned-out recoil shield reminiscent of Old Model Army revolvers of the late 1800s. This example, serial 52600, is outfitted with a 3” barrel and birdshead grips in nicely figured maple.
Barrel markings include “F&W SINGLE ACTION” on the left, “U S F A MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT, USA.” On the top, and “45” on the bottom. Serial number is stamped in the traditional bottom frame position, just in front of the trigger guard.
All fitting, polishing, finishing, assembly and range testing is by Turnbull Restoration. Metal finishes include: bone charcoal color case hardened frame, gate and hammer; charcoal blued barrel, cylinder, grip frame and small parts.
