It’s no mystery that Winchester lever action rifles hold a special place in our heart. To help celebrate the 125th year of the Winchester Model 1892, Turnbull Restoration is offering this iconic firearm with world-famous Turnbull metal and wood finishing touches.
Starting with a new Model 1892 Short Rifle with octagon barrel, we apply our signature color case hardening process to the receiver, lever, hammer, butt plate and forend cap (all blued parts remain with Winchester factory bluing). In addition, we refinish the factory-checkered stocks in a hand-rubbed oil finish to match Winchester’s classic red shading. A significant final touch is our safety conversion process, which helps transform the new 1892 to its forbearer’s original spec.
Turnbull Winchester 1892s are available in .44 Rem Mag (pistol grip) or .45 Colt (straight grip).

Wayne Martin –
The Winchester 1892 is my second purchase from Turnbull and i couldn’t be more pleased ! I was blown away at the workmanship !
This the most beautiful rifle in my collection. Just so you know it’s more than a pretty face , I fired 20 rounds down range into a 3 inch
Group. This will definitely not be my last purchase or restoration from Trumbull !!!

Thank you Wayne! We love it when folks get out there and enjoy their Turnbulls. Have fun!
Alex Kemple –
I bought my 1892 custom in .44 mag back in 2017 (when Turnbull was doing the 125 year anniversary edition). It took months to be created and received but it was well worth the wait. It is the only gun I proudly display on my mantle, it’s just too beautiful to keep in a safe. It fires phenomenally and there’s not a single thing I can complain about with this amazing rifle. My one sticking point, the color case hardening does rust REALLY easily. If you go hunting with it, I highly recommend putting some desiccant packs in the gun bag with the rifle. I unfortunately have a little bit of putting on the receiver from a long, rainy hunting weekend. But that is no fault of the manufacturer. I highly recommend Trumbull’s incredible recreations. You won’t get anything but the best.

Thanks, Alex! We appreciate your review, and recommend using G-96 or Remington Rem Oil to oil and protect the finish on your rifle. Best of luck on your future hunts!
