Presented for you today is a restored Winchester 1873 chambered in .44-40 Win. Carrying serial number 559535, this vintage lever action rifle is dated from 1901.

This Winchester has been fully restored by Turnbull Restoration. Wood restoration includes new butt stock and forend in 2XX, 22LPI checkering in standard “H” pattern, and hand-applied finish in classic Winchester red. Metal restoration includes full metal preparation, new 20” octagon barrel, stamping, color case hardening of hammer, lever and crescent butt, rust bluing of barrel and mag tube, charcoal bluing of receiver and small parts. Engraving is original, re-touched by our in-house engraver. The engraving is an early Winchester factory pattern, similar to what became Winchester’s #10 pattern.

THIS is without any doubt, one of the most beautiful Winchester 1873’s I have ever seen! The fit and finish appear perfect! While I know I can’t afford to own it, it has been a real pleasure simply looking at these pictures! Superb job Mr. Turnbull!
