The guys at Turnbull are incredible craftsmen. I have a 90-95% 1916 production M1911 (on which, coincidentally, Turnbull replaced the sights back in the 1990’s) and this restored NRA pistol’s finish, which is not a high-polish blue, exactly matches the finish on my original pistol. I don’t know if the faint lines on the frame and slide are sanding or machining marks but they have exactly the same orientation and depth as my original. This beautiful restoration is what a flawless original M1911 should look like.
