Limited Edition Engraved Turnbull Model 1886 SOLD

Description

Turnbull Restoration released four unique, limited edition engraved Turnbull Model 1886 rifles.  The first of these releases was this example, featuring engraving based on the #9 pattern from the Winchester Highly Finished Arms catalog.  Only one of these Turnbull 1886’s was made.

The receiver on this rifle is engraved with fine ornamental scroll and animal scenes engraved in rich detail.  The butt plate and fore end cap are also lightly engraved with ornamental scroll.  This is one of the most popular engraving styles and gives the firearm a very rich and attractive appearance.  The receiver, lever, hammer and forend cap have all been color case hardened using all period-correct methods. Wood is 3x American walnut, hand-finished and checkered.
