If you have been to the Southern Side by Side Classic in Sanford, NC you will know the excitement you feel heading out to the course to compete or ducking into the vendor tents to see familiar faces and look around at all things related to shooting. We all look forward to this event every year, and we were disappointed to hear that this year’s event was canceled. So our friends at Delaney & Sons decided to host the Virtual Southern Side by Side Classic.

Every morning during this virtual event, you can simply check in here to see what is happening on that day. Or you can register to receive emails right in your inbox.

Each day you will:

• Be introduced to vendors
• Find tips related to guns and shooting
• Browse deals of the day or show specials including gun sales and other discounted merchandise (including our own 10% off event sale on all in-stock shotguns *)

The Competition

Isolation is hard, however some of you still have access to sporting clays. If you do, grab your side by side or over under and head out to the course. Kids too! Take a photo of your score card with your phone to show the hosts your best score of a round of 50 clays. Email the photo to Delaney & Sons by 5:00pm on Sunday, April 26th. They will announce a winner in each category.

What is the Southern Side by Side Classic?

It was the vision of Mary and Bill Kempffer of Deep River Sporting Clays to host an event that brought together fine guns and competition. For over 20 years, this event has brought vendors from all over the world together to showcase their shooting related products, and has given side by side enthusiasts an opportunity to take part in a collegial competition. The Double Gun Journal says it best “One could plead sensory overload on first stepping into the long canvas tents which are stuffed stock, lock to barrel, with world class firearms and accessories, sporting art and collectibles, books, and magazines from the elite names in publishing and writing, wing shooting outfitters, clothiers, exquisite leather craft – more dreamscape than laden tables, shelves, and gun racks.” And if you want to shoot your gun, whether in the several competitions categories or just for fun, by all means go for it!
