Turnbull Mfg Model 1911 Limited Edition Custom, Case Included

Take a WWI-style Turnbull Model 1911 already known for its uncommon performance and period-correct character, and elevate it with the artistry of our own restoration shop. This particular Limited Edition example—part of our sought-after namesake 1911 line from over a decade ago—underwent a round of custom work by our craftsmen in early 2025, transforming it into something truly exceptional.

The slide and controls were brought to a lustrous high polish to match the finish of our celebrated Turnbull Commercial 1911s. After polishing, the Turnbull Standard “A” Pattern engraving was carefully re-cut by hand, ensuring every scroll remained crisp and true. We then charcoal blued the slide and color case hardened the frame, creating a unique blend of old-world touches. Completing the presentation, the slide stop, thumb safety, trigger, grip screws, and frame pins received our nitre blue finish for that unmistakable Turnbull touch.

The result is a stunning blend of early 20th-century form and modern craftsmanship. It’s an enviable hybrid that will draw admiration whether displayed or shot.

As originally configured, this Model 1911 features a 5-inch barrel, WWI-style ejection port, Kensight DAS adjustable white dot rear sight with serrated blade, and matching 0.200″ white dot front sight. The short, wide spur hammer, early-style grip safety with knurled undercut thumb piece, and solid one-piece steel trigger remain faithful to the era that inspired it. Hand-checkered double diamond American Black Walnut grips provide a timeless finishing touch, while the left side of the slide proudly bears the Turnbull “Turning Bull” trademark and Doug Turnbull’s inspector stamp.

Expertly maintained, this example shows only a minor handling mark on the right side of the slide near the ejection port. Includes deluxe case, one reproduction two-tone magazine and factory letter.
