Presented for sale today is a Turnbull-restored Colt Model 1911. Bearing “MODEL OF 1911. U.S. NAVY” (serifed) nomenclature, along with serial number 10716, this rare service pistol is dated from the year 1912.
The firearm’s restoration work included period-correct 1912 high-polish finish, restoration of original markings, re-cut knurling and slide stop checkering, charcoal blue, and hand-checkered walnut double diamond reproduction grips.
This restored 1911’s magazine is a type 3, converted by Turnbull restoration to type 2. Two-tone, charcoal blue.
