Classic Americana meets modern upgrades. That’s the Marlin Dark Series. The opportunity came up to add our bone charcoal colors to a Dark 1895’s action and forend cap, which we gladly took. We think the results are pretty striking.

There’s plenty for lever gun purists like us to love in this updated expression of the venerable Marlin 1895, while the factory has done an excellent job in introducing smart upgrades for the modern hunter. You get the famous Marlin speed and accuracy with a stealthy-tough black matte parkerized barrel finish and a black-webbed hardwood stock. There are a host of performance enhancements, including a threaded barrel, big-loop lever and XS Lever Rail with ghost ring peep that also accommodates a wide variety of optics.
