This Browning Model 71 has been thoughtfully upgraded by Turnbull Restoration in 2015, blending classic craftsmanship with practical enhancements. It’s been converted to .45-70 Government, a versatile caliber known for its reliability in hunting everything from deer to larger game.

Turnbull outfitted the rifle with a new 24-inch round barrel, marked with the Turnbull Manufacturing name, and installed a Decelerator recoil pad for added comfort when shooting heavier loads. A Williams FP71 receiver sight rounds out the upgrades, offering precision and easy adjustability in the field.

The stock and forend retain the Model 71’s characteristic walnut, with a smooth satin finish that’s comfortable to handle and easy on the eyes. The action cycles cleanly, and the overall condition is excellent, with only minor handling marks and a bright, clean bore.

This upgraded Model 71 is a fine example of blending tradition with modern functionality. Whether it’s headed to the woods or joining a collection, it’s a rifle that will serve its next owner well.
