This Browning Model 71 was upgraded by Turnbull Restoration in 2016, blending timeless design with precision craftsmanship. Chambered in .45-70 Government, it’s a reliable and versatile choice for hunting game of all sizes, enhanced with thoughtful updates that honor its classic roots.

The rifle now features a striking full-octagon barrel, 24 inches in length, marked with Turnbull Manufacturing’s name. A new full-length magazine tube complements the barrel, maintaining the rifle’s traditional profile. To match the octagonal barrel, Turnbull fitted a new forend and forend cap, ensuring a seamless aesthetic. The buttstock and new forend were hand-checkered in the standard “H” pattern, providing improved grip while showcasing the walnut’s natural beauty.

A red Decelerator recoil pad was installed to tame the recoil of the .45-70, making it comfortable to shoot without compromising its classic lines. The action cycles smoothly, reflecting the exceptional care that went into these upgrades.

Condition: Excellent overall, with minimal handling marks on the wood and metal. The bore is bright and clean, and the Turnbull upgrades ensure this rifle is as functional as it is visually striking.
