A pre-owned Browning Model 1886 in .45-70 Government, customized by Turnbull Restoration in 2013, offering a configuration not available from the factory.

Built on a modern Browning platform, this rifle features a takedown conversion, 22-inch full octagon barrel, and full-length magazine tube. It wears 3XXX American walnut furniture with a 13.25-inch length of pull, hand-checkered in a classic 22 LPI “H” pattern.

Metalwork is executed in traditional Turnbull fashion: color case hardened receiver, hammer, lever, forend cap, and crescent butt plate, complemented by charcoal blued small parts. The barrel and magazine tube are rust blued for durability and period-correct character.

Condition is excellent throughout. Metal remains like new with only minor wear at the magazine tube from takedown actuation. Bore is pristine. Bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. Wood rates approximately 98%, showing only light handling marks on the forend.
