Anschütz’s reputation for precision is well earned, and this Model 1740 is a fine example of the German maker’s classic sporting rifle. Chambered in the inherently accurate .222 Remington, it features a 23-inch barrel, handsome Monte Carlo walnut stock, detachable magazine, and a Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12×40 scope mounted in Leupold rings.
This rifle appears never to have been fired since leaving the factory, with only a single minor storage mark on the right-hand wrist to note. An exceptionally clean and well-equipped varmint and small-game rifle from one of Europe’s most respected gunmakers.
